Joint Mobilisations

  • What is it?
    • Joint mobilisation techniques are a form of manual therapy used to improve joint mobility and thereby reduce pain.
    • These techniques involve passive movements, such as oscillations, traction and gliding, that the therapist performs on the joint to be mobilised to help to restore normal joint function.
    • Joint mobilisation aims to help increase the range of motion, reduce stiffness and improve the lubrication to help the joint move more smoothly.
  • How does it work?
    • By promoting proper joint alignment and movement, mobilizations can help to alleviate stiffness, improve joint lubrication and enhance overall joint health and function.
