Qi Gong – Group Class

Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese practice that blends gentle physical movements, breathing exercises, and focused intention to cultivate and regulate the flow of energy, or Qi, within the body. Qi, meaning “vital energy,” is believed to be the life force that permeates all things. “Gong” translates to “work,” “skill,” or “mastery,” so Qigong is often understood as the “mastery of vital energy.” With roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qigong supports physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Benefits include:

Stress Reduction and Mental Clarity: Practicing Qigong regularly has been shown to decrease stress and enhance mental clarity. By focusing on controlled breathing and mindful movements, Qigong helps calm the body’s stress response, fostering a sense of relaxation and inner peace.

Pain Management and Recovery: Qigong is gaining recognition for its ability to relieve chronic pain and support recovery. It has been found to help manage conditions such as fibromyalgia and arthritis, and to aid in healing after surgery or injury.

Improved Balance and Flexibility: The gentle, flowing movements of Qigong improve physical coordination, balance, and flexibility. Research suggests that Qigong can lower the risk of falls and enhance overall mobility.

Boosted Immunity and Disease Prevention: Qigong is believed to strengthen the immune system, making the body more resistant to illness. Studies indicate that regular practice may reduce inflammation, improve cardiovascular health, and assist in managing chronic conditions like hypertension and arthritis.

Enhanced Energy Levels and Vitality: By promoting the circulation of Qi (energy) throughout the body, Qigong can boost vitality and reduce fatigue. This energy flow is thought to enhance overall health and well-being, helping practitioners feel more energized and balanced.
